We would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves to you
Drs. Robert and Danielle Kauffman came to the region in 1989 after graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic. After opening our first office in Merrillville, and practicing together for 6 years, Kauffman Chiropractic branched out to Lakes of the Four Seasons in 1995. The practices and the area experienced tremendous growth during this time.
In the year 2000 Drs. Robert and Danielle Kauffman built a building at 7620 East 109th Ave, in the new town of Winfield, on the corner of Randolph and 109th. Kauffman Chiropractic in Merrillville followed soon after in 2002, building a twin building on 84th Drive off of Broadway, between Applebee’s and Meijer. Whether you’re on your way to or from work, or have some time during the day, there is always an office conveniently located for your needs.
The Kauffman’s have managed to balance family and careers staying actively involved in school, church and their kid’s sports activities. Their children Nick, Kristina, and Michael go to school in Bloomington, IN and Davenport, IA. “Our offices and lifestyle are family friendly, and all of our children have been treated with chiropractic care since they were little.”
Dr. Robert H. Kauffman
Merrillville Location
Dr. Kauffman is a native of the Detroit area and was introduced to chiropractic care at a young age through effective treatment of numerous sports injuries. After getting good results with chiropractic care and some good advice from his father, a chiropractic patient himself, he chose chiropractic as a career. He was enticed by the challenge of getting people better, especially athletes, without the use of drugs or surgery. He excelled in the sciences and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University, in their Pre-Med program.
He was accepted into Palmer College of Chiropractic, the oldest and largest Chiropractic College in the world. It is at Palmer where the two chiropractors met.
Dr. Danielle B. Kauffman

Crown Point Location
Dr. Crowder is a native of Lake County, Indiana. She was introduced to chiropractic care at a young age following a back injury. After experiencing great results, she decided to enter into the chiropractic profession. Graduating from Calumet High School, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Southern Indiana, and was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Dr. Jackson is a native of LaPorte County, a Graduate of Ball State in exercise science, and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer Florida. “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease” this truth, once stated by Thomas Edison, and the desire to be a doctor from a young age, drove Dr Jackson to the chiropractic field.

Sonya Eperthener
Chiropractic Assistant – Crown Point
My name is Sonya Eperthener and I have been working with Kauffman Chiropractic since February 2012 as a Chiropractic Assistant. I am one of the first faces you see when you walk through the door at our Winfield Office. I graduated from Keiser University with an Associates Degree in Health Services Administration. Initially I was unaware of the benefits of Chiropractic care but after becoming a patient myself I have learned that caring for your spinal structure will keep you younger longer and free of pain. I truly enjoy coming into work every day to witness the positive effect chiropractic care has on our patients.
Miriam Ortega
Chiropractic Assistant ~ Crown Point
My name is Miriam Ortega. I am the Rehab Therapist for the office in Winfield. I graduated from Everest College as a Massage Therapist. I’ve been working with Kauffman Chiropractic since August 2007. I love working in wellness. I truly believe in chiropractic care because since I have started treatment, I have been pain free for 4 months. I have the pleasure of working with patients and seeing them progress. I enjoy being part of the Kauffman Chiropractic Team.
Toni Spraggins
Massage Therapist ~ Crown Point
My name is Toni Spraggins and I am the Massage Therapist at Kauffman Chiropractic. I started two and a half years ago doing my clinical hours for Dr. Robert Kauffman in Merrillville. When I witnessed how beneficial Chiropractic Care was, I knew right away this was something I wanted to be a part of. I’ve since transferred over to Dr. Danielle Kauffman’s office in Crown Point a year ago.

My name is Rebecca Irwin and I have been working with Kauffman Chiropractic since May 2009 doing marketing and events. I currently help both the Merrillville and Crown Point offices with the insurance and billing. I am new to chiropractic; I became a client in February 2009 and believe it works. I have my bachelors in Business Management and have 11 years of experience of doing billing for multiple types of businesses.

My name is Erin Cuff and I am one of the first faces that ;you see when you walk in the door. I am from Pontiac, Il and have graduated with 2 majors from St Joseph’s College in Rensselear, In. My majors are in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Mass Communications. I also played basketball while at St Joe’s. I have played many sports and believe, very much, in chiropractic care and how it made me a better player; especially after my years of playing all those sports.

Hello my name is Dianna Pluta, I graduated from Everest College as a massage therapist. I’ve been at Kauffman Chiropractic as a chiropractic assistant since April of 2011. I myself get adjusted to find out it works wonders. I used to get bad knee and neck pain, now I have no pain!

My name is Emily Kiselka, I’ve worked for Kauffman Chiropractic since September 2009. I’ve had the opportunity to tour Palmer College and I am now an Integrity Chiropractic Assistant. I work at the Winfield location and am a firm believer in chiropractic. Since working here I’ve gotten adjustments and have trained in Rehabilitation Techniques. I love the people I work for and what I do. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
